HEBRON, Ky. -- An Indiana woman was killed in a three-car crash and another driver was transported to a hospital Friday morning, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred about 7 a.m. on the KY-237 (North Bend Road) overpass at I-275.

Krista Wells, 45, from Aurora, Indiana, was ejected from her car and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

A Chrysler Sebring was southbound in the left lane when it "suddenly and unexpectedly" veered left across the center line, deputies said.

The Sebring first collided with Wells' Pontiac Sunbird, causing the Sunbird to overturn. The Sebring then hit a Chevrolet Silverado.

The Sebring driver had to be extracted and was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The Silverado driver did not require medical attention at the scene.

Northbound lanes of KY-237 were shut down for the investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit.

Deputies asked witnesses to call the sheriff's office at 859-334-2175.
