NEWPORT, Ky. — In recognition of Patriot Day on Sept. 11, the Newport Aquarium will offer free admission to first responders from Sept. 9-15.

The aquarium said it will recognize our nation's police officers, firefighters, EMTs, state troopers, corrections officers, 911 dispatchers, and other professionals involved in law enforcement, investigations and emergency response.

“No matter what the emergency; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, first responders never stop protecting us,” aquarium officials said in a release Friday.

First responders will need to bring valid government ID and their professional credentials to the ticket window to receive free admission.

Family and friends accompanying first responders can earn $5 discounts for adult and child admission.
