CINCINNATI -- The dean of the University of Cincinnati's college of business is likely heading to Florida.

The University of North Florida board of trustees picked David Szymanski as their next university president Tuesday, WJXT in Jacksonville reported.

Szymanski came to UC as its business school dean in 2010. Before that, he held administrative and faculty positions at Texas A&M University since 1987. He also sits on the Office Deport board of directors and was the director of Zale Corporation from 2004 to 2006.

"We’re excited about our selection of David Szymanski as the next president of UNF," UNF trustees chair Kevin Hyde told WJXT. "Szymanski’s proven track record of leadership will be a valuable asset to the university as we continue our commitment to provide excellent undergraduate and graduate education."

Szymanski's appointment isn't official yet. The Florida Board of Governors is expected to vote on it March 29, WJXT reported.
