GROVE CITY, Ohio -- The body of a missing Ohio State student was discovered in a Grove City, Ohio park Thursday, according to police.

The Franklin County Coroner’s office said Reagan Tokes, a 21-year-old senior at Ohio State, was shot to death Wednesday night after leaving work at Bodega Columbus. Her roommates filed a missing person report the following morning; the same day, a jogger would discover her body near the entrance to Scioto Grove Metro Park.

"We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends," Ohio State said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this extremely difficult time."

The Columbus Dispatch reported that it was unclear whether she had been killed at her workplace or at the park 11 miles away, but there was no shell casing found at the scene of discovery.

Tokes, who would have celebrated her 22nd birthday March 9, had been preparing to graduate with a degree in psychology.

Authorities requested that anyone with information about Tokes’ death call Grove City Police at 614-277-1710, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Tip Line at 855-224-6446 or Columbus Police at 614-645-4545.
