West End shooting puts 2 schools on lockdown

CINCINNATI -- A person was shot multiple times in Cincinnati's West End neighborhood Monday, and two nearby schools were put on lockdown.

The shooting happened shortly before noon near Linn and Clark streets. 

The victim was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition, Cincinnati police Lt. Steve Saunders said. He was shot in the upper body, and Saunders said the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Cincinnati College Prep Academy and Hayes-Porter Elementary were locked down.

Saunders said there was no information on the shooter.
