COVINGTON, Ky. -- A 20-year-old man was booked into jail Friday in connection with a fatal double shooting earlier this month.

Damondre Williams is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center, awaiting extradition to Kentucky to face charges of murder and first-degree assault.

He's suspected in the death of Antonio Bandy, 25, who was shot Aug. 1 at 13th and Wheeler streets in Covington. Another man, 40-year-old Marcus Broadus, was injured in the shooting.

Bandy's death was the second fatal shooting at the same intersection in the span of just a few days.

Covington police said they got help from the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force, United States Marshall Service, FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Cincinnati police in arresting Williams.

“We thank everyone who assisted in this arrest and the tireless efforts of the Covington Police Department to ensure justice is served and that our citizens remain safe," said City Manager David Johnston. “Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims of the recent shootings.”
