CINCINNATI -- A woman was shot and killed in Lockland Saturday evening after an altercation, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Lacy Rae King, 32, and the passengers in her car got into a fight with another group of people at Joe’s Drive-Thru at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

Tiffany E. Smith's daughter called and asked her to come to the drive-thru because she'd gotten into an argument, according to court records.

The argument escalated into a fight, court records state, at which point Smith pulled a gun from her bra and hit King several times in the head.

Then Smith shot King once in the upper body, the sheriff's office said.

Someone drove King to the Reading Police Department, and then emergency medical personnel transported her to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She later died.

Smith, 42, faces a murder charge. More charges are possible, deputies said. She is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center and is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Monday.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Lockland Police Department, the Southwest Ohio Violent Crime Task Force and Attorney General Mike DeWine's Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
