CINCINNATI -- A driver hit a man in a Bond Hill parking lot Friday night, leaving him with life-threatening injuries before fleeing the scene, according to Cincinnati police.

Brandon Brown, 35, was in front of an apartment building on Reading Road at Northcutt Avenue when a Ford Escape went off the right side of the road and hit him.

The SUV then hit a tree, went back onto the road, went back off the road again and hit a street sign. According to Cincinnati police, the vehicle continued across Reading Road, into another parking lot where hit a metal pole, then continued up Reading Road.

Police found it abandoned not far from the scene of the crashes, and they haven't identified the driver. Speeding is considered a factor.

The Cincinnati Fire Department took Brown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information on the crashes should call the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
