TRENTON, Ohio -- Police have arrested the boyfriend of a teenager who was found after missing for nearly two months, as well as the boyfriend's mother.

Loretta Norvell, 17, was found in a Middletown closet earlier this month after she apparently vanished from her Trenton bedroom in January.

Police charged her 17-year-old boyfriend with falsification and obstructing justice, they announced Wednesday. The case was charged through juvenile court.

The boy's mother, 55-year-old Laura Stephens, was also charged in connection to Loretta's disappearance, police announced. Stephens was charged with falsification, making false alarms, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstructing justice and interference with custody. She was being held without bond.

Police had previously arrested a couple, Lucinda and Robert Bryant, after Loretta was found in their home. Officers said they went to the home believing Loretta had been there, but didn't expect to find her still there.

Loretta was not being held against her will, according to police.

"There's a reason she was hiding from police," Robert Bryant told a reporter after he was released on bond. He didn't elaborate further.

Police said they were still investigating the case and more people may be charged.
