CINCINNATI -- The man police arrested for the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old in Westwood says the shooting was an accident.

Donta Williams, also 23, was charged with murder in the death of Derrick Johnson, who was shot and killed in Westwood Saturday morning.

Williams was arraigned Monday and given a $250,000 bond. His lawyer said Williams turned himself in to police after "accidentally shooting his cousin." He is set to appear in court on Feb. 23.

According to a news release, officers responded to reports of one person shot at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday in the 3200 block of Tulsa Court.

Johnson was found in his car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Cincinnati Works is planning to hold an anti-violence event Wednesday night on Tulsa Court.

"You got our attention now, so we want to address the issue and help you will this. We don’t want you to become a statistic, that’s all," Cincinnati Works' Mitch Morris said.
