MIAMI TOWNSHIP (HAMILTON COUNTY), Ohio -- 'Tis the season for package thefts, and 31-year-old Daniel Stolz of College Hill stands accused after police say he snatched two packages off a front porch near Cleves.

A judge set bond at $25,000 on Tuesday morning. Stolz was identified after the victim shared video surveillance footage on social media asking for help finding the man who took two packages off her porch just moments after a Fed-Ex driver dropped them off.

The packages contained credit cards and children's toys, according to a court affidavit.

The prosecutor said Stolz has prior felony theft and burglary convictions.

Several Tri-State police departments, including Norwood, Colerain Township and Amberley Village, are working to make sure people don't fall victim to "porch pirates" by allowing them to ship packages to police stations through December.

Other advice police offer is to have a neighbor sign for packages or simply make a conscious effort to be home when packages arrive, if that's feasible.
