CRITTENDEN, Ky. -- A Crittenden man is behind bars after police say he used Snapchat to request pornographic images and video from a 12-year-old boy.

Joseph Boccanera, 20, of the 200 block of Wheat Court, was arrested around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Police accused Boccanera of using his cellphone to ask that boy to send photos and videos of his genitals, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.

The news release said, "Detectives have every reason to believe Boccanera communicated with other boys over a period of time in the same manner, and they encourage anyone who has been approached to come forward now."

Boccanera stands charged with the unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities, a class-D felony. He was also charged with the class-C felony of use of a minor in a sexual performance.

He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond. Investigators executed a search warrant of Boccanera’s home where they seized 18 electronic devices and storage media for forensic analysis. Police say they anticipate filing additional charges.
