CINCINNATI -- Two separate shootings forced a West Price Hill and a Westwood school to lock down Wednesday, according to Cincinnati police.

Carson Elementary in West Price Hill was on lockdown from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. after a man was shot in the jaw near 1000 Winfield Avenue, Lt. Steve Saunders said. The man was awake and breathing when police arrived. He was taken to the hospital.

Saunders said investigators believe there are two suspects in the shooting. They were last seen on foot going toward Rosemont Avenue.

In Westwood, Saunders said school officials put Our Lady of Lourdes on lockdown as a precaution at about 12:45 p.m. after a shooting on Glenway Avenue at Muddy Creek.

Saunders said one vehicle struck another from behind as they traveled south on Glenway Avenue. The driver who was struck then fired shots at the other car as it left the scene.

Police said they don’t believe anyone was shot and the shooter is in custody.

District Three officers are investigating both incidents, as well as another car crash where a car went over an embankment on Westwood Northern near Beekman.
