WILMINGTON, Ohio – Teenagers in a stolen car crashed into an apartment building during a high-speed chase Friday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Three juveniles  – ages 17, 16 and 14 – stole a vehicle in Columbus, according to OSHP.

Troopers from the Wilmington Patrol Post spotted a vehicle being driven “in an erratic manner” at about 4:50 a.m. and pursued it, they said.

The vehicles reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour on U.S. 22, troopers said. The teens were driving through Wilmington when they crashed into the apartment building.

The 17-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

The teens were due to appear in juvenile court on pending charges including driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding and receiving stolen property, troopers said.
