Ohio troopers find phony World Series Game 7 tickets

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Troopers seized phony World Series tickets from two men during a traffic stop, the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Wednesday.

The troopers discovered the counterfeit tickets after the stopped a 2015 Chevrolet Impala with Illinois registration for a lane change violation on Interstate 80 in Wood County Wednesday morning, according to the OSHP.

During a search, the troopers found eight fakes of Game 7 tickets worth more than $4,000, they said.

Driver Terry Walls, 36, of Merrillville, Indiana and passenger Citron Mitchell, of Chicago, were arrested and charged with forgery. They were being held at the Wood County Justice Center.

If convicted, the men could each face up to a year in prison and a fine of as much as $2,500.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed, according to the OSHP.
