CANTON, Ohio -- An Ohio judge hoping to send a message has sentenced two men to jail time -- and writing a five-page book report.
Stark County Judge Frank Forchione on Monday sentenced Jonas Rohr and Kyle Bodager, both 19 years old, to read a book about World War II or the Vietnam War and write a report.
Rohr and Bodager pleaded guilty to discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, the Canton Repository reported. The newspaper reported Forchione also ordered them to volunteer at a veterans' memorial park.
Police say the two men and a juvenile were shooting during target practice last fall when a stray bullet struck a man mowing his lawn.
