LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - A southwest Ohio judge has rescheduled the trial for an Arizona man charged in the 23-year-old slaying of a competing furniture salesman.

Warren County Common Pleas Judge Donald Oda recently moved the trial's start from January to June 20. A status conference is set Feb. 8 in the case.

Sam Perone pleaded not guilty to a murder count after being brought back to Ohio in October following his arrest at his Phoenix home. Warren County authorities believe he fatally shot 41-year-old Columbus-area furniture salesman Richard Woods at Perone's Lebanon furniture store.

They say new forensic techniques and witnesses that came forward helped them break the case.

Perone's attorney says he continues to steadfastly deny involvement in Woods' death.

Perone is being held on $750,000 bond.
