SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A man has been accused of sex crimes involving minors enrolled in the Springfield Township Fire Department's cadet program.

Jonathan Scott Monroe, 23, was a training instructor and cadet advisor at the time of the alleged offenses, WHIO reported. Four victims, who are now 15 to 17 years old, were involved, according to an affidavit filed in Clark County Municipal Court Thursday afternoon.

Monroe had agreed to surrender to authorities on April 18 but never did, according to WHIO. A warrant has been filed for his arrest.

He had gone to police and asked to speak with detectives April 5, according to the report. He admitted to the crimes through access he had through the cadet program, saying he was 15 or 16 years old at the time.

Monroe is facing charges including rape, gross sexual imposition, three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of sexual battery and compelling prostitution, WHIO reported.
