CINCINNATI -- An off-duty officer and two others were injured after police say a man cut the officer early Saturday morning.

Police arrested Darryl Smith, 27, after they say he cut the off-duty officer on the left arm as the officer was trying to break up an altercation near the downtown bar Mynt around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Lt. Steve Saunders said the off-duty Cincinnati police officer was working a detail nearby when the altercation broke out.

Saunders said the two others who were injured were stabbed in their backs, and it is not clear at this time who stabbed the individuals.

Keaton McElroy, 24, was also arrested at the scene for outstanding warrants, according to Saunders. Saunders said they believe McElroy was involved in the stabbings, but they are “unsure of his level of involvement.”
