Man turning himself in to police vandalized jail lobby, sheriff says

CINCINNATI — A man who authorities say was turning himself over to police vandalized the lobby at the Hamilton County Justice Center in the process, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Tracy Gragston, 38, entered the south building lobby at about 12:30 a.m. Monday to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence in Butler County and a probation violation, according to a news release.

Gragston became upset while waiting for assistance, the news release said, and damaged 12 door glass panels, two bulletin boards, a wall-mounted computer screen and an ATM using a trash can and piece of metal from a cart located in the lobby.

While being booked at the justice center, Gragston is also accused of assaulting a deputy, the sheriff’s office said.

Gragston is charged with vandalism and assault. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at 9 a.m.
