HARRISON, Ohio -- Police, firefighters and deputies scoured the sewers Monday, searching for a woman whose boyfriend said she was down there and wouldn't come out.
But it turns out she wasn't down there, police said in court records.
Now the boyfriend, 26-year-old Adam Carpenter, is under arrest and facing a charge of inducing panic. He caused "serious public inconvenience or alarm," according to police.
Deputies used the girlfriend's phone GPS to track her down. She was safe at an above-ground address across town, according to police.
Carpenter was being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center pending arraignment Tuesday morning.
