FRANKLIN, Ohio -- A man had sexual contact with a child seven years ago at a home in Warren County, according to Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell.

Michael Abner, 22, was indicted on three counts of gross sexual imposition and is accused of having sexual contact with the child when he was 15 years old.

The child was under the age of eight at the time of the incidents.

The child came forward with her story of abuse last year, prompting an investigation.

The home where the alleged sexual contact happened also housed a daycare, authorities said.

Abner knew the child outside of the daycare, but he interacted with other children at the establishment.

"Due to the nature of the allegations, we wanted to make sure that we highlighted that and give parents the opportunity to check with their children so that if something did happen, we can get those children into therapy and give them the resources that they need," Fornshell said.

Parents should call Detective Jeff Stewart at the Franklin Police Department at 937-746-2882 if they have any suspicions about their children being involved.

"Obviously, we're hopeful that nothing like this happened and that this is the only incident," Fornshell said. "We don't have any reason at this time to believe there were any other instances that occurred."
