LEBANON, Ohio -- A Warren County jury found the Lebanon man who shot and killed his father last year guilty of murder Wednesday, WCPO news partner the Journal-News reported.
This was the second trial for 43-year-old Freddie Green, who shot 64-year-old Sidney Green on Dec. 2. The first trial ended in a mistrial over the summer after jurors couldn't reach a verdict.
The younger Green had claimed he shot his father in self-defense. He said he thought his father was going to shoot and kill him.
However, Assistant Warren County Prosecutor Steven Knippen said Green shot his father in the back of the head, waited four hours to call 911 and was high when he did call, the Journal-News reported.
In addition to murder, the jury found Green guilty of felonious assault with gun specifications.
Sentencing is expected for next month, the Journal-News reported.
