CINCINNATI -- An Ohio man pleaded guilty Thursday to mailing threats against President Donald Trump and other government officials while he was an inmate at Lebanon Correctional Institution.

Rodney Cydrus, 48, mailed four threatening letters to the FBI and one to the Federal Public Defender Office during January 2017. The threats were against the president, federal judges, the FBI and the Federal Public Defender Office, authorities said in court documents.

At least one letter also included a powdered substance that turned out to be Cydrus' medication.

A federal grand jury indicted Cydrus in February 2017.

Cydrus faces up to 10 years in prison for the charge of mailing threatening communications.
