CINCINNATI — Authorities arrested a fugitive wanted in New Jersey at a Cincinnati apartment complex Thursday.

Jamil Mitchell is accused of assaulting a victim with a firearm in Bridgeton City, New Jersey, on June 24, according to a news release from Cincinnati-based U.S. Marshals.

Authorities in Cumberland County, New Jersey, have a warrant for Mitchell on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault related to the incident.

Marshals, with help from Mason police, learned that Mitchell was in the apartment complex and arrested him without incident early Thursday.

Mitchell is being held by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office pending extradition back to New Jersey.
