MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- A driver admitted he was on drugs when he ran a red light and hit a police cruiser early Saturday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Adam Danner was headed east on Grand Avenue at about 4:20 a.m. when he went through a red light at Breiel Boulevard, troopers said in a news release
Danner's Honda Civic hit a marked Middletown police vehicle with two officers inside, troopers said.
The cruiser then hit a truck.
According to Middletown police, the officers were on their way to an overdose call when Danner hit them.
"There are going to be charges," OSHP Sgt. Tom Bloomberg told the Journal-News. "There will definitely be OVI because he admitted to being impaired and obviously showed signs of impairment."
Danner was taken to Atrium Medical Center for minor injuries. As of Saturday afternoon, the hospital no longer had him listed as a patient.
The others were treated at the scene.
