CINCINNATI -- Parking near the University of Cincinnati can make anybody want to pull their hair out, but two women are behind bars Friday after losing their cool over a parking spot.

Imari Loggins, 20, of Cincinnati, and Shani Wilson, 43, of Canal Winchester, are charged with assault after police say they punched, kicked and slammed Marlisa Nelson against a store window in the 200 block of Calhoun Street, where Loggins, a student, resides.

Police say they got into a disagreement over parking. It wasn't until Nelson pulled out a gun and fired one shot into the ground that Loggins and Wilson backed off, police said.

Nelson was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with significant but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say she has a permit to carry a weapon and is not expected to be charged.

Loggins and Wilson pleaded not guilty at a court hearing Friday. Each was held on $1,000 bond.
