INDEPENDENCE, Ky. — A temporary drive-thru coronavirus testing facility in Kenton County was completely booked going into its second day of operation, Northern Kentucky health officials said Thursday.

A partnership between Gov. Andy Beshear's office, the Kroger Co., and Covington-based Gravity Diagnostics, the facility at Summit View Academy on Madison Pike opened for drive-thru testing on Wednesday and will continue testing through Saturday. Tests are administered by appointment only, and the facility has the capacity to run 250 COVID-19 tests each day.

As of Thursday morning, all available appointments had been booked, according to NKY Health spokeswoman, Laura Brinson. Brinson said it was unclear at the time when or where the next drive-thru testing facility would open in Northern Kentucky.
