AMC is reopening their Newport and West Chester movie theaters today with 15 cent movie tickets.

According to the company’s website, few tickets are left for the reopening after COVID-19 shut down theaters for months. Now AMC said they’ve taken many steps to keep things clean and safe for their reopening.

Guests will have to wear a mask unless eating or drinking. Seating capacity will be capped at 30% for each showing. AMC said that number will gradually increase as part of a four-phase plan, dependent on local, regional and national health conditions.

More time will be built in between show times to heavily clean each theater, including doors, handrails, recliner buttons and tray tables. There will be hand sanitizer stations throughout theaters, as well as disinfectant wipes for those who want to wipe down their tray tables one more time.

AMC also encourages guests to purchase tickets online to avoid contact with workers.

According to their website, the AMC Anderson location is scheduled to reopen on August 27. The AMC CLASSIC in Hamilton will reopen on September 3.
