This is not a good year for the Bengals either on or off the field. It started with the arrest of Adam Jones in January. Then the team drafted Joe Mixon, who had been suspended in college for hitting a woman, and slogged through the season, failing to pick up any of the winning traction they had just two years ago.

Vontaze Burfict started the season suspended. Offensive coordinator Ken Zampese was fired almost right out of the gate. Marvin Lewis is on thin ice with fans.

And now there's AJ Green.

His takedown of Jaguars player Jalen Ramsey was just another hit to the Bengals' reputation. It's more bad behavior in a team that never seems to get its act together.

We want our professional sports teams to win. It bolsters our pride in our community. However, we also need to have our professional athletes to conduct themselves better on and off the field. Bad behavior doesn't just affect them. It reflects on us: the fans and our region. They need to do better.
