Many voters deeply dislike both Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. But there is someone else whose popularity has been gaining traction in recent months: Harambe the gorilla, who was shot in May after a child fell into the primate's enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

Harambe has become a political meme this year and has been floated as a new namesake for parks and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sadly, despite the apparent guerilla gorilla campaign, he is not eligible to become a candidate for president: although he was born in the United States and lived here for 17 years, he did not meet the minimum constitutional age requirement of 35 years old. Also, we're not sure gorillas count as United States citizens from a legal perspective.
