The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority approved a contract to buy Cincinnati Gardens in Bond Hill. Once the deal goes through, the Gardens will be demolished to make way for new industrial redevelopment that could add several hundred jobs in the area.

While the aging Gardens has had few regular tenants in recent years — most notably the Cincinnati Rollergirls — it has been host to Cincinnati history. Famed local boxer Ezzard Charles fought in a heavyweight title bout in the Gardens' first week. The Cincinnati Royals and NBA MVP Oscar Robertson called the Gardens home. And music acts such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elvis played in the arena.
