Tax cuts to create 159 new jobs for Butler, Warren counties

Thirteen Greater Cincinnati companies that plan to add nearly 2,000 employees in the next several years received approval from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority board today, according to a report from the Journal-News.

“After a year of slow and steady growth, we saw a rush of companies closing projects in the fourth quarter this year,” said Kimm Coyner, vice president, business development and projects for REDI Cincinnati. “We hope to see continued strong growth in 2017.”

The approved Butler County projects include West Chester-based SAF-Holland and Georgia-Pacific Corrugated in addition to Fairfield-based DNA Diagnostic Center.

The Warren County project is Franklin-based Meridian Roofing Corporation (Atlas Roofing Corporation.

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated, a manufacturer and marketer of paper products, is set to make a capital investment of $17.9 million, create 29 new jobs and retain 82 jobs.

SAF-Holland Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of engineered components, systems and services to the commercial vehicle industry, is set to make a a capital investment of $100,000, create 30 new jobs and retain 29 jobs.

DNA Diagnostic Center Inc., a laboratory for DNA paternity testing, forensic DNA testing and human genetics studies, will make a capital investment of $85,000, create 40 new jobs and retain 240 jobs.

Meridian Roofing Corporation (Atlas Roofing Corporation), a manufacturer of residential and commercial building materials, is set to make a capital investment of $39.5 million, create 60 jobs and retain 140 jobs.

The other nine companies are: Ascendum Solutions LLC; Chard, Snyder & Associates, Inc.; Comcage, LLC (Oodle); DMI LLC; Encore Technologies; GBQ Partners LLC; Nehemiah Manufacturing Company LLC; Path Forward; and Paycor, Inc.

The largest project of the 13 was Paycor, with 1,064 jobs created and 731 retained for the Norwood-based payroll-processing company, which provides recruiting, onboarding, reporting, timekeeping and compliance services.

This month marks the most projects REDI has ever taken to the Tax Credit Authority at one time, according to Erin Rolfes, spokeswoman for REDI Cincinnati.

To date this year, REDI Cincinnati, the Southwest Ohio JobsOhio network partner, has helped create 4,737 total new jobs, retain 8,049 jobs and foster nearly $287.3 million in capital investment.
