CINCINNATI - Macy’s Inc. is boosting its seasonal hiring plan in response to “strong traffic in our stores” during the holiday shopping season.
The Cincinnati-based department store chain is seeking 7,000 new associates for part-time work in customer service and filling online orders for in-store pickup. It’s a sign that Macy’s is having a better Christmas than expected. In September, Macy’s announced plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers in 2017, down 3,000 from a year ago.
“Macy’s has had a great start to this holiday season with high customer volume across our business,” said John Harper, Macy’s chief stores officer. “Seasonal workers play an important role in the Macy’s holiday shopping experience and, in addition to a competitive hourly income, they will experience a flexible working environment and benefit from a merchandise discount.”
Applications can be submitted at MacysJobs.com, where a search Friday showed 39 jobs available in the Cincinnati area. The company is also hosting seasonal hiring events Dec. 5 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at stores in Kenwood, Downtown, Anderson Township, Tri-County, Florence and Northgate Mall.
