CINCINNATI -- Wal-Mart is challenging Kroger, its main rival in the grocery business, with curbside pickup service in Greater Cincinnati.

Wal-Mart announced Tuesday that shoppers could open their Wal-Mart app or visit walmart.com/grocery, enter their ZIP code and place an order for pickup.

The service is available at four suburban stores:

  • 5303 Bowen Drive, Mason
  • 4370 Eastgate Square Drive, Eastgate
  • 8288 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester
  • 201 Chamber Drive, Milford

Wal-Mart's service works the same as Kroger's ClickList, which the Cincinnati-based grocer rolled out a year ago: Personal shoppers fill customers' orders, and shoppers park in a designated space during their pickup time to have a store employee load the groceries into their car.

Items are priced the same as inside the store.

Kroger offers online shopping across the country in more than 300 locations across ClickList and Harris Teeter Express Lane services.
