COVINGTON, KY — Health-conscience lunch spot Son & Soil plans to relocate within the Mainstrasse Village less than a year after opening.

Husband-and-wife Stephen and Jessica Williams opened the “clean-living café” at 637 Main St. last September. Son & Soil was the couple’s second Mainstrasse Village restaurant. They the had previously opened farm-to-table eatery Bouquet at 519 Main St.

Son & Soil announced on its Facebook page it will close July 23. It will then start offering an expanded lunch menu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday inside Bouquet beginning Aug. 1.

The post stated the café outgrew its current location and moving into Bouquet was its most sensible option.

“This move will not only give us plenty of additional seating, it will give us more access to the Bouquet kitchen,” it stated.

Bouquet currently opens Monday through Saturday for dinners starting at 5 p.m. Once Son & Soil moves it will offer its regular lunch menu of sandwiches, wraps, fresh-pressed juices and organic smoothies, alongside Bouquet’s salads, the Blackhawk Burger, Bouquet Fries, wine, cocktails and local draft beer.

Jessica Williams said when Son & Soil first opened that she and her husband wanted to offer the Mainstrasse neighborhood a quick, simple and clean-eating lunch option.

“Stephen and I had always wanted to do something healthy, quick,” she said. “We always thought the street really needed something like that.”

After its move, Son & Soil will also offer carry-out service at Bouquet's bar.
