CINCINNATI - The organizers of the annual Cincinnati Comic Expo are holding a new one-day event for comic book fans this month.

The first  Queen City Comicon  will be held April 16 at the Duke Energy Convention Center.  More than 100 tables will feature comic book artists and vendors  as well other pop culture merchandise, including T-shirts, games and toys. A costume contest will also be held. Most of the exhibitors and artists are from the Tri-State.

The headliner is Marvel artist Frank Brunner, best known for his work on Doctor Strange and Howard the Duck. Howard the Duck was featured in a movie in 1986, and a Doctor Strange movie will be released by Marvel Studios in November.

Tickets are available  at www.queencitycomicon.com and at the door on the day of the show.

Plans are underway for the 2016 Cincinnati Comic Expo Sept. 23-24 at the Duke Energy Convention Center.  You can buy tickets at http://cincinnaticomicexpo.com/.
