CINCINNATI — The holidays are coming a little early to Downtown this year.
The U.S. Bank Ice Rink on Fountain Square is opening Oct. 30, nearly a month earlier than it did last year, according to 3CDC communications manager Brittney Carden.
3CDC is the non-profit organization that manages operations on the square.
The rink will open the same day as the ninth annual M&M Halloween Costume Contest on Fountain Square. Adults, children and groups are welcome to show up in their most creative costumes for a chance to win prizes, according to 3CDC's website.
The Halloween contest runs from noon to 1 p.m. that day. People can sign up for that event on MyFountainSquare.com.
Carden would not say why 3CDC decided to open up the rink so early this year.
She said 3CDC would be releasing more information about holiday festivities and attractions coming to Fountain Square soon.
