CINCINNATI – Love is in the air, food served with a purpose is in Over-the-Rhine and a beach party are all on the menu this weekend.

Social OTR Grand Opening: 4 p.m.-midnight Thursday. Social OTR, 1819 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine. Help Social OTRcelebrate its grand opening with $5 house wines, $1 oysters and $3 drafts. Winter Xscape Beach Party: 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday; 1 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday. Newport Festival Park, One Levee Way, Newport. Free admission. What better way to beat the winter doldrums than by going to a free beach party? Best part, the beach is enclosed so the weather doesn't really matter. This is the one time of year where it is okay to run around Mount Adams in your underwear. Don't worry, we won't talk about that other time. All of the proceeds from this fun, one-mile run and after party at Mount Adams Pavilion goes to research to find a cure for neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic tumor disorder that affects one in every 3,000 births. cupids.org
