CINCINNATI — Two Queen City beverage industry veterans are teaming up to offer their own unique take on craft cocktails in Over-the-Rhine.

Catherine Manabat and Julia Petiprin plan to open an as-yet-to-be-named craft cocktail bar at 35 E. 13th St. this summer.

The pair promise an "experiential" bar that challenges visitors to branch out of their traditional drinking habits by sampling cocktails made with lesser-known spirits like Italian bittersweet liqueurs, herbal and fortified wines and low-proof spirits.

Petiprin has 16 years of experience working in the hospitality industry as an accredited and award-winning interior designer. She moved from Los Angeles to Cincinnati, where she has gained a reputation in the local craft cocktail scene while working at Sundry and Vice in Over-the-Rhine.

Manabat, who moved to Cincinnati from Los Angeles a decade ago, was part of the original team that opened the bar at Metropole, which is located inside Downtown's 21c Museum Hotel. She has since helped the restaurant establish its award-winning cocktail program and continues to lead a monthly cocktail class series called "Sunday School" at the hotel.

The location of Manabat and Petiprin's future bar is managed by the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC).
