CINCINNATI -- One of the founding fathers of the craft beer movement will be in town Friday to unveil a massive new beer-themed mural honoring the Queen City.

Samuel Adams owner Jim Koch will dedicate the new mural at his Over-the-Rhine facility during a private event Friday afternoon.

The brewery worked with Cincinnati’s ArtWorks organization to create the new mural.

The brewers said the mural was commissioned to showcase the city’s art, engage the local community and provide employment for ArtWorks apprentices and artists.

Cincinnati artist Tom Post designed the piece. It depicts the “revolutionary values of Samuel Adams beer,” as well as Cincinnati’s brewing heritage and Over-the-Rhine’s brewing culture.

The mural will be located on the façade of the brewery at 1642 Central Pkwy.

Lucky beer fans may be able to spot Koch this weekend at the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati celebration in Downtown as well.
