CINCINNATI -- Rhinegeist Brewery is expanding its distribution territory.
The Over-the-Rhine brewery announced it will start distributing kegs of its beer and cider to Pittsburgh and southwest Pennsylvania markets starting March 6. Sales of cans will start in May, according to a post on Rhinegeist’s Facebook page.
To celebrate the expansion, Rhinegeist is planning launch events at various Pittsburgh locations during the week of March 20. Times and locations are listed at www.rhinegeist.com/pittsburgh.
Rhinegeist opened in 2013 in the former Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. bottling plant at 1910 Elm St. The brewery expanded into the Cleveland, Canton and Akron markets in August and into Boston in September.
Its beer is also available in Columbus, Ohio, and Kentucky.
