BELLEVUE, Ky. -- Northern Kentucky's Ei8ht Ball Brewing is turning two and it’s got a pair of special release beers for fans to enjoy.
The brewery will release a limited run of its award-winning bourbon barrel-aged “Reintarnation” Golden Ale and its new “Rye’ld,” a rye whiskey barrel-aged English Mile Ale.
The release will start at 5 p.m. Friday in the taproom and only 100 bottles of each will be available.
Reintarnation notched a bronze medal victory at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition and a gold medal at the 2014 Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer.

The brewers make Reintarnation by aging Ei8ht Ball’s Tarnished Golden Ale in New Riff Distilling nine-year-old O.K.I. Straight Bourbon Whiskey barrels.
When New Riff dumps the whiskey barrels ahead of bottling, they are filled with beer the same day.
Reintarnation helped pave the way for Rye’ld as Head Brewer Mitch Dougherty decided to pair his spring seasonal “Queen” with the spiciness of a rye barrel.
Dougherty said via a release, “I believe most beer drinkers expect barrel aged beers to be huge, rich and high in alcohol. The formula is simple with these two products; make sure we can all enjoy more than one glass at a time. You will find these beers have the flavors and aromas one would expect from a barrel-aged beer but, they have an un-cloying finish which will keep your taste buds intrigued and coming back for that second glass.”
The bottles will be limited to two per person and sell for $12.99. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. The release starts at 5 p.m. Friday.
