Welcome to $30 & Under!
No long food reviews here. Just the essentials on where to find best local eats to blow your mind, but not your budget. Twice a month, we challenge our team of foodies to scour the town for the best bites for two under $30. This is their latest discovery.

This Week's Find: Empanadas at O Pie O

Why We Love It: Don’t be fooled — this Walnut Hills eatery doesn’t just serve up dessert. In fact, we managed to squeeze in an appetizer, two entrees and a sweet slice of pie all for exactly $30. The menu is small and quaint, matching the ambiance of the building and patio tucked away on Madison Road. We started off with the creamy pimento cheese ($8), and were pleasantly surprised by the hearty pairing of sea salt-sprinkled bread on the side. Next up, two delicious empanadas — the beef empanada ($8) and the Eli’s BBQ empanada ($8). These guys might look small but they pack a big, crispy punch full of flavorful, tender meat. Empanadas are served with yummy dipping sauces, pickled veggies, and slaw. To top off the meal, we took home a slice of the flaky-crusted blackberry buttermilk pie ($6). Next time, we’re coming for happy hour, which runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and features $3 cans of local, craft beer.
