While there are many reasons to love the holidays, what makes it so special for me is the sense of nostalgia that comes with the season. Whether it’s through classic movies or my decorations, I love re-creating the past — including the decades I didn’t actually live in.
Even if you weren’t old enough to make a ceramic tree yourself in the 1970s when they were all the rage, your holiday memories might include seeing them at a relative’s house or even inheriting one yourself. Now, the ceramic trees are popular all over again, and a lot of big-box retailers are selling tabletop versions as well as ornaments.
And at this point in the season, there are some deals to be had!
If you already have your holiday decorations finished, but have some room on your Christmas tree, you can also find ceramic Christmas tree ornaments so you can add some retro flair to your decor without having to find free space on a table or counter. Even better, you can get some of them for up to 60% off right now, making them as low as $3.19!
Target has two ceramic tree ornaments, in green and white, on sale for $4.20, a 30% savings. They are each 3.75 inches tall and look just like the real thing, complete with lightbulbs and a star on top. They don’t light up, but some reviewers say you can put a battery-operated tea light in the bottom. They are in stock at some stores, or you can order them online.
Sears has larger trees in green and pink. Regularly $14.99, these 5-inch ornaments are now $5.99, a 60% savings. You may be able to find them at your local Sears or will get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
The Lakeside Collection also has a good deal right now: their 5-inch tall tree ornaments are just $3.19, also a 60% savings. These come in green and white and also light up, with batteries included. You will have to pay for shipping unless you place an order of $50 or more.
If you do want to go for the full tree, you can find them just about everywhere.
Walmart has green, pink and white trees for just $25 each. The Mr. Christmas 16-inch pre-lit ceramic trees are just $25, both in Walmart stores and online — but there are only a few left.
Amazon also has a battery-powered 15-inch tabletop Christmas tree for $34.94.
Lowe’s also has a ceramic tree for $4.99, but it looks like only a few are left online. The allen + roth vintage white ceramic tree is 12-inches tall and is battery-operated with a star on top. It only comes in white, but it has multicolored lights.
Merry retro Christmas!
