Bob Evans Farms has recalled about 4,200 pounds of raw pork sausage product after consumers complained of finding thin blue rubber inside.
The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall Thursday, saying the products were shipped to retailers in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The recall includes 1-pound chubs of “Bob Evans Italian Sausage” with lot code 0352 and a “USE/FRZ BY” date of “JAN 31 21” on the label. The recalled products bear establishment number “EST. 6785” printed directly above the “USE/FRZ BY” date.
The FSIS advised against consuming the sausage from that lot, and the products should be returned to the place or purchase or thrown away.
