FC Cincinnati loses 4-0 to Ottawa Fury FC

OTTAWA -- FC Cincinnati lost 4-0 to Ottawa Fury FC Sunday, snapping their six-game undefeated streak.

The Orange and Blue gave up three goals in the first 20 minutes of play at TD Place Stadium. The loss puts FCC at 11-11-19 and eighth in the Eastern Conference table.

Onua Obasi had the first goal for Ottawa Fury in the fourth minute. Fury FC found their second goal just six minutes later when team captain Carl Haworth beat Austin Berry in the box and sent the ball to the back of the net.

Haworth scored again in the 20th minute, lifting Fury’s lead to 3-0.

Fury continued their attack In the second half; forward Dos Santos headed in a pass from Eddie Edward in the 47th minute.

Officials ejected Ottawa’s Kyle Venter from the game in the 69th minute for a push, but FC Cincinnati couldn’t capitalize with a one-man advantage.

The Orange and Blue created eight shot opportunities in the second half. Wiedeman looked to put FC Cincinnati on the board in the 78thminute, but his shot grazed the crossbar.  

FCC concludes their regular season play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Toronto FC II.
