CLEVELAND -- The 2016 Republican National Convention (RNC) kicked off Monday and will continue through Thursday at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The RNC website says it will host about 2,470 delegates and 2,302 alternate delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five territories. This year marks the fourth time the Republican Party will convene its convention in the Buckeye State. It was in Cincinnati in 1876 and in Cleveland in 1924 and 1936.
