Police: Auto shop owner shot in would-be robbery

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio -- A would-be robber shot the owner of Galbraith Road auto repair shop in the back Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The shooting happened at Leach Brothers Automotive, at the corner of Galbraith and Simpson Avenue.

Officers and K-9s spent the afternoon searching for the gunman, but they didn't find him.

The victim was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment; his condition was not available.

"In this neighborhood, our area, it's getting tougher and tougher for us," said Srienibas Bandianani.

For eight years, Bandianani has operated an Ameristop store. He said two masked men robbed his store last year.

"What if it happens to us? That’s the main thing. If we are in the same situation that the guy is, we'll be in the same shoes," Bandianani said.
