CARTHAGE, Miss. -- A suspect in a Mount Healthy homicide was arrested Thursday and charged in Carthage, Mississippi, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Cleveland Saunders IV, 21, on Dec. 14, 2016, after they discovered another man, Jaron Steele, shot to death in the mobile home park where they both lived.

"The violence has to stop," said Felicia Talbert, who identified herself as Steele's aunt. "You never think it’s going to happen in your back yard, but when it does, it really hurts."

Authorities said Saunders fled police and entered Mississippi as a fugitive after the death.

The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, which consists of the Hamilton County Fugitive Unit and United States Marshals, found Saunders in Carthage and arrested him despite another attempt at escape, authorities said.

Saunders was taken to the Leake County, Mississippi jail, where he was awaiting extradition as of Thursday evening.
